In December of 1997, Michelle Norris decided to make candles for her friends for Christmas.
She invested $400.00 in supplies and started to work in her little apartment kitchen.
After showing some of her friends the candles that she was creating, Designs By Chelle Candle Company was born.
Her mom, Amy, soon became her partner. They began selling candles at craft shows.
The following August, Amy suggested that they set the business up on the home party plan.
They recruited a couple of friends to be sales representatives and started holding Candle Parties.
By Christmas the company had six sales reps and sales were continuing to grow.
After a few years of holding candle parties, they decided to change the direction of the business.
Instead of home parties they began to sell candles wholesale to a variety of retailers nationally.
Designs By Chelle continues to grow and we want to keep providing our customers with the quality and fragrances
that have made us who we are. So like we have always said, "Burn them, we will make more!"
